Harper on same page as... the Democrats?

Bill Graham and the left are screaming that Mr. Harper's support of Israel is part of some neo-con scheme of alignment with George W. Bush's policies.

Well, it looks like Mr. Harper's position isn't all that extreme, as he is on the same page as many Democrats in the USA... including HILLARY CLINTON!
Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton said she supported taking "whatever steps are necessary" to defend Israel against Hamas, Hezbollah, Iran and Syria in the military conflict in the Middle East...

"We will stand with Israel because Israel is standing for American values as well as Israeli ones," said Mrs. Clinton...

"I want us here in New York to imagine, if extremist terrorists were launching rocket attacks across the Mexican or Canadian border, would we stand by or would we defend America against these attacks from extremists?" Mrs. Clinton said to roars of approval.

"We will support her efforts to send a message to Hamas, Hezbollah, to the Syrians, to the Iranians," Mrs. Clinton said. "We will not permit this to happen and we will take whatever steps are necessary."

"It is a message that we want not only those in the Middle East to hear, but the world, because no nation is safe from these terrorist extremists... They do not believe in human rights, they do not believe in democracy. They are totalitarians, they are the new totalitarians of the 21st century." New York Times

Hillary Clinton also voted in favor of the war in Iraq and continues to support it. So on issues like the middle east her word is mud as far as I am concerned. When looking for intelligent positions I am more interested in what politicians from Europe say then politicians from the US.

Interesting. Not that this makes her opinion right or wrong, but does anybody else wonder if her opinion would be different if she were the senator from Arkansas instead of New York?

I thought about that Blake... she is in a Demo state, but her seat has a heavy Jewish presence. Do these two interests balance her out, thus meaning that if she were in a Red state, her view would be the same?

    I dunno.

I'm saying she's pandered to the Jewish vote (heavily Democratic in New York) since she got there. She pulled that crap in Arkansas she'd be impeached...by which I mean her body parts would be found in bowlfuls of peace cobbler across the Natural State.

They may be a little more conservative down there, but don't think for a second they're snapping off salutes to the blue-and-white flag.
