Interesting

Could the IPCC have faked some of their data?
So, for example, those people in the IPCC [Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change], choose Hong Kong, which has six tide gauges, and they choose the record of one, which gives 2.3 mm per year rise of sea level. Every geologist knows that that is a subsiding area. It’s the compaction of sediment; it is the only record which you shouldn’t use. And if that figure is correct, then Holland would not be subsiding, it would be uplifting. And that is just ridiculous. Not even ignorance could be responsible for a thing like that.
Draw your own conclusions.

in case you can't sort it out on your own, nils is a pig for big oil. just like every other scientist that climate change deniers cling to.

you're a smart guy. who stands to profit? exxon or green peace?

when was the last time that you heard of an energy producer shutting down?

The IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) is largely composed of government bureaucrats, who have an agenda. Because of this, any report that they put out should be thoroughly examined for factual content instead of being considered as proven science.

Jeff, all the Kyoto-faithful say the same thing about Kyoto deniers... "they're all funded by big oil". You say that to prove they have bias.

Funny... we've said the same thing about the members of the IPCC, that most of them are buracrats with an agenda, and not scientists... but no one seems to listen.

    Now why is that?

Don't you draw your own conclusions on global warming based not only on science but on your own personal observations? How can some one who has been alive for the past 30 to 40 years not see that weather patterns have changed? Summers are hotter and storms more violent, winters are warmer and there is less snow. I saw a man washing his car outdoors during the Christmas holidays. This is not normal Southern Ontario weather.

Ebs and flows my friend, ebs and flows...

I don't deny our weather is changing, but the real question is whether or not "change" is in fact a "normal" planetary process.

Since Britian was a wine producing region in the 1300-1400's, and yet you could walk across the frozen Thames river in the 1700's, (both these extremes occuring before major human industrialization, I might add) I'd have to say that "climate change" is in fact a normal planetary process... wouldn't you?

On the other hand, the winters seem to end later now as well. It almost seems as though the weather has caught up with the seasons (winter actually begins around the official winter date rather than mid-fall, spring around the official spring date rather than mid-winder, etc.). Could it be that things are just shifting?

    Good point Drew.

Interesting thought, which I have no proof for, so take it with a grain of salt... the Jewish calendar is made up of 360 days, with 12 months of 30 days, with an extra month of 30 days thrown in every 7 years... could it be that our seasons match better with their calendar? I've always wondered myself!

You're making it sound as if the British Isles were a tropical paradise during the Middle Ages. The truth is, only southern England was capable of producing wine during the Medieval Warm Period; whose end was marked by a decrease in temperature anywhere from .5 to 1 degrees celcius across Europe. While southern England lost the ability to produce wine, you're making it sound as though places like the Scottish Highlands were equally as capable as southern England.
You are also correct in stating that the following "Little Ice Age" occurred before industrialization, however you never indicated that this cooling period ended after widespread industrialization of England, other parts of Europe, and the United States.

Weather is in a constant state of flux. As a child I would wonder as the oldtimers regaled me about weather stories. January 1908 was so warm in central Alberta that the men worked outside in their shirt sleeves. I didn't believe it until January 2005 when I worked outside in my shirt sleeves. 1934 the farmers had their crops planted by the end of March instead of late May. The crops looked great that year until they froze in July. The winter 1946/1947 had so much snow that farmers rode horses to town to get groceries, roads were impassable to wheeled vehicles. Just like 1973/4 when I was able to walk up a snow bank to the top of the barn 22 ft above ground. The warmer winters are no more deviant than the bitterly cold winters of the late 60's early 70's. The difficulty we are in noticing these cycles is the hype being pumped out by the MSM.

Personally, with the number of people here who don't believe in evolution, I think criticism of the IPCC government report should be taken with a grain of salt.
