Hostage taking at Hillary Clinton office in NH

From the "WHAT THE ...?!?!?" files... some wacko has taken hostages at a New Hampshire campaign office for Hillary Clinton, and strapped a bomb to himself.

I mean, buddy, there are plenty of us who don't like her, but this is no way to express your feelings!

I really hope this guy gives himself up pronto, and that everyone makes it out of this okay.

UPDATE: The hostages have been released, according to CNN... more to follow

Seems like a day doesn't go by without some wacko doing something or other.

If he doesn't like Hilliary, why does he want to hurt others?

This is what happens when people get too extreme and partisan in politics?

Somehow there's a message in this episode - perhaps we should all soften up on the nasty partisanship of politics.

It's destructive and doesn't serve any purpose.

I haven't paid much attention to Ron Paul because I don't think he can win the White House... he's got a good shot at the nomination, but if he gets the nomination, Billary walks away with the keys to the White House.

Ron Paul for Vice-President? Maybe... but with all the wackos he's attracting, his endorsement might be the kiss of death to the eventual GOP winner.

One of Ron Paul's platforms is that (from MSNBC) all children of illegal immigrants should not only be denied citizenship (even if they were born in the USA) but that all illegals should be denied basic services (ie health care).

Ron Paul wants to dissolve NAFTA (and we all know how Canada's economy would respond). Ron Paul wants to open up environmental reserves to oil exploitation, cut funding for alternative fuels, etc..

If that isn't scary I don't know what is. Maybe Obama's "lets invade Pakistan" is more so, but only slightly.

I think if Ron Paul gets the nomination he can beat Hillary because of his integrity and grass-roots support. His voting record is impeccable and people like someone that sticks to their principles. Just today (December 1st) somebody raised 300,000 bucks and launched the 'Ron Paul Blimp'. There just isn't as much momentum in any other campaign, which is why Paul has now surpassed all other Republican canditates in fundraising. It will be interesting to see if it translates into votes - thus giving us the Paul/Clinton scenario.

As for his platform, the two issues that are catching people's attention are his stance on ending not just the war on Iraq, but the US foreign policy that is bankrupting them and income tax.

Ron Paul is a national sovereigntist but has repeatedly stated his support for trade with all nations is a high priority so Canada shouldn't worry about that.

I think what's scarier is all other Republican candidates' foreign policy that would bankrupt the United States. That's the scariest thing I can think of (memories of Argentina) and it's why Ron Paul is going to win.
