InSite users intimidate doctor into not appearing

This is disgusting... apparently, a doctor from B.C. (I was not able to catch his name on the CPAC broadcast) has informed the Clerk of the Standing Committee on Health that he will be unable to appear today as he was scheduled to do.

On Tuesday of this week, his offices were invaded by InSite users and supporters, and he was personally threatened due to his opposition to the program and his intention to testify to that effect before the Standing Committee on Health.

Resorting to threats of violence? I say shut the thing down NOW, as it's obviously not working in reducing crime and violence. I fully expect the local police to press charges in this matter, and arrest the offenders.

I'll post more on this story IF the media can provide more details. Otherwise, we'll have to wait for the transcript.

If you were just to legalize drugs, the private sector would gladly sell clean and safe paraphenalia.

    No more taxpayer funded enabling!

CC: you and I had an interesting conversation about Insite in the past. I don't agree with the tactics you describe in your post. I would suggest that you consider, however, the desperation of those who use Insite. This is a place that is literally keeping them alive. They have access to clean needles (no HIV or Hep transmission). There are health professionals present should they OD. They have access to on-premises detox and access to addiction counsellors for when they are ready to get clean. Every day that an addict lives is another chance for them to get clean.

Yeah well don't hold your breath waiting for arrests.

InSite is just doing what the BC-HRC has been doing , but taken to the next level.

It always amazes me how the left feel the have such moral superiority that even if their actions contravene the law it is acceptable because they have the supreme moral authority over the peasants.

So, Anonymous..after giving them all that, what is exactly the impetus for them to get clean?
The taxpayers pay for these people to continue with their lifestyle, with a smile and a pat on the butt, and a 'see you next time'

Once they threaten violence, all bets should be off..this is a begrudged favour granted to them and they seem to be taking advantage..

I think a little tough love is in order here..
