Part of the "missing" Iraqi WMD program?

This is the first I've heard of it... 550 metric tonnes of "yellowcake", the seed material for a nuclear weapons program, were found and shipped out of Iraq, on the extreme QT... and has ended up in the hands of a Canadian business, in Montreal.

So a question... will this quiet those who say there was no evidence of a WMD program in Iraq?

UPDATE: It's been pointed out to me that the UN was already well aware of the existance of the "yellowcake", and that it was deemed to be held legally be Saddam... though this is honestly the first I've ever heard of it. As such, people are telling me, "It doesn't count as part of a WMD program".

I don't know about you, but personally, I'm not comfortable with the idea of a madman hanging on to 550 tonnes of "yellowcake", and everyone saying they're cool with that...

From a historical perspective, it does look like there were WMD, or WMD capabilites, the facts will hash out shortly.

However, do I think Sadam would have used them or as a means of justifying US interevention...........no. Again, that is besides the facts.

It appears there were WMD's/capabilities. I am just saying this to shut the mouths of moonbats up who jump on any fasionable point or "fact" they hear by the MSM.

So you can still be against the reasons for US intervention, but still acknowledge the facts.

Let's see if those on the left wing will do the same........acknowledge the fact, but disagree with the pretence.

I marvel at how much "unity"/cohessiveness appears on the left wing?

Government intervention/anti-war/pro-abortion/sexual "liberation"/pro-marijuana/non distinctions between genders/gay "rights"/ etc...................are these sheeple allowed to think for themselves without being ostracized or made a black sheep if they disagree with one point? I see lots of descent/debate on the right wing, it seems like these guys are constantly getting peer presured into the one who can be the most perverse, progressive (whatever that supposed to mean), or profane.

Calling yellowcake the 'seed material' for nuclear weapons is an interesting spin.
In that state it can not be used in nuclear weapons (or nuclear power). It would still need to be refined to be used for any sort nuclear power or weapons projects.

The mere presence of uranium doesn't = weapons, and I've seen no evidence to show that's how they planned to refine and use it.

So for now I'd say there's still no evidence of a WMD program in Iraq besides you twisting things for there to be some small hope that there was.

How about we put it this way Chris... would you trust a guy who's had a history with mustard, of the gaseous variety, with 550 tons of "yellowcake"?

    Not I.

You are misrepresenting the truth. The yellow cake was already known to the weapons inspectors prior to the illegal invasion:

Israeli warplanes bombed a reactor project at the site in 1981. Later, U.N. inspectors documented and safeguarded the yellowcake, which had been stored in aging drums and containers since before the 1991 Gulf War. There was no evidence of any yellowcake dating from after 1991, the official said.

The left wing will deny Iraqi WMD right up to the moment one goes off under their butt. Then they'll say "Bush made them do it!"

When it comes to a madman with 550 tonnes of yellowcake, yea, I guess you could say I'm a bit of a coward. ;-)
