"Senator Elizabeth May" and Separatist Senators?

I have only one thing to say about that... STACK THE SENATE... STACK IT NOW.

Are we serious about Senate reform? Here's how we make it happen... we stack the Senate with young qualified Conservatives. But before doing so, have each of them sign a legally binding contract stating basically the following:
I, (insert name here), in accepting the call to serve in the Senate of Canada, do hereby agree to resign my seat upon the election of my successor from the Province of (insert Province name here).
I'm thinking 24 newly minted Conservative Senators may spark a desire among some folks to talk about finally reforming the Red Chamber.

UPDATE: The separatists and the Liberals have both denied this as a rumour. I'll admit, I got taken in on it, but I had checked several news sources before I posted it, so I assumed that it might just be legit. I notice, however, the Liberals haven't denied the rumours about May.

Anyway, the original premise of my argument stands... if Dion takes over, the Liberals will fill the Senate with more Liberals. That will put the numbers somewhere around 75+ Liberals vs. 22 Conservatives in the Red Chamber. If Harper stacks it now, it will be more even, around 60ish Liberals vs. 46 Conservatives.

If the Libs get an opportunity to fill the empty senate seats, they will. They might even be forced to install some Dippers and Separatists as part of the deal.

I agree with your recommendation 100%. Fill those seats now to limit the constitutional damage that will come if the GG caters to this coup.

I have a serious question for you. You claim to be a Christian, and I believe you 100%. But you post a lie like "Separatist Senators". How do you reconcile the two. Sure, in la la land its theoretically possible but there has been no confirmed evidence of this and it is so outlandish everyone knows it isn't true. There will never be a Prime Minister that will EVER name separatist to the Senate. You know it. We all know it. Make truthful arguments and I'll respect you. Post lies in an attempt to further your support and you need to look yourself in the mirror. Stay calm and don't lose who you are in politics. I've seen good, honest people lose themselves and become liars and cheats. It isn't worth it.

read today, PMSH can not make Senate appointments without the confidence of the house,
    the GG won't approve them.
The coalition has already sent in their claim to power, so the GG knows PMSH doesn't have the House confidence.

Only problem is that to place these senators Harper would still have to open Parliament and face a non confidence vote. I do not think he will do that.

    The question becomes:

    1. Is it better to take the political hit to go against your beliefs to appoint senators for the purpose of blocking BQ appointees.

    OR

    2. Allowing the Liberal party to take the hit for appointing BQ senators while realizing that appointment can provide common ground for federalist senators and will remind voters for years to come of the separatist coalition.

6 BQ senators may be a bit of a pain but for Conservatives, seriously can it be any worse than the status quo. I think maintaining the high ground (as much as possible) should be the priority.

Harper started stacking the Senate when he asked the GG to appoint Michael Fortier.

What about all the lies Harper is using to split Canada apart at the seams over this debate? Like when he said the Liberals made their announcement without any Canadian flags behind them. There were three! The lies are disgusting. Do you as a Christian oppose the lies and smears being used to save Harper's ass? Or are you going to spread them (like the separatist Senator lie)? There's an intent behind the separatist Senators lie and Canadian flag lie. It is to tear this country apart to keep Harper as PM. Its disgusting.

More lies of BQ Senators. It seems the only way Harper can defend keeping power is with lies. But that isn't the worst part. The lies are deliberately intended to tear this country apart. It sickens me!
