Looks like the 33.1% were right

Oops... sorry guys, but we tried our best to warn you last year that he wasn't the guy. Now we've wasted over a year, and the Liberals are coasting towards another victory in 2011.

So who's next? Looks like it's time to renew my PC membership.

    Top Contenders:

    Elizabeth Witmer
    Christine Elliot
    Tim Hudak

    Maybe:
    Randy Hillier
    John Yakabuski
    ???

Early bird gets the worm, so who's going to be first out of the gate?

Now it's time for the Ontario Executive to get off it's ass and put together a quick leadership race. The vote should be no later than the 12th of September. This way the Leader is in the House and ready to go for the Fall session.

Don't count on an election in 2011. The way McGuinty and his cadre of socialist thugs are wiping out citizen's rights, I expect that he will cancel all provincial elections and have himself declared premier for life.

As I suggested earlier tonight elsewhere, we still have three years -- LOTS of time to build up the party again, and far more than David Peterson afforded one freshman Mike Harris...

Hopefully we'll see the ones responsible for this debacle have their "Association" eliminated at the next policy convention (I think you know which "group" I'm talking about).

I guess it's time for Mr. Tory to move on. I don't see how he could recover from this. Too bad.

    AMEN.
That 33% killed Tory in Haliburton just like it did in the last provincial election.

    CC,

All last night proved was that one riding didn't want him to be their representative.

Personally, I think that has very little bearing on his ability to lead or govern.

I find the position of the post to be a bit of an apples/oranges thing. With apples being the legislative branch, and oranges being the executive branch.

I think the electoral/parliamentary system that has put Tory's claim to the leadership on the brink is more to blame than John Tory himself.

On an aside, if John Tory does have to go, I might even lend Randy Hillier a hand.

For what it's worth (probably not 2cents, because we already discussion ;) )

Anon@11:58, if Randy Hillier throws his hat in the ring, I will be doing everything in my power to ensure he goes down in flames.

Hillier is the polar opposite of Tory, and just as damaging to the Party. We don't need another moron from the fringes to lead the Party, we need a unifying centrist.

I don't have any names yet, but trust me, I'll be doing some careful research before making a choice.

    Hillier down in flames?

We don't really have to go down this road again, do we? :)

Other side of the coin, though

I'm always up for a little competition. ;)

    May the best man win

    "...we need a unifying centrist."

No no no, I mean "centrist" within the Party, not generally... somewhere between Tory and Hiller.
