Did Iffy just point a loaded gun at his own head?

Wow... the Liberals have launched what could be the most negative attack ad in Canadian history, trying to liken Prime Minister Harper with the likes of Robert Mugabe, Hugo Chavez, and just about every other murderous tin-pot world dictator. Talk about going straight for the gutter. An absolutely DISGUSTING shot from the so-called "Cosmopolitan Professor".

View it for yourself, straight from the Liberal Party's website:

Moving beyond this vile attack for a moment, however, we see something rather shocking. Liberal Leader Michael "Iffy" Ignatieff has just pointed a loaded gun at his own head with this ad. By leveling such accusations as this, comparing our Right Honourable Prime Minister to a Third World dictator... well, how on earth is he going to climb down and support the Government's Throne Speech in March?

Simple... HE CAN'T. It's official, the Liberals have decided to roll the dice, hoping to capitalize on the supposed "outcry" over the Prorogue, and will be forcing an election over the Throne Speech or the Budget in March.

Hold on to your hats folks... HERE WE GO.

I still think the "guns in our cities" ad takes the cake, but this is a close 2nd place.

Looks like it's on. I wonder what Elections Canada will do about those still unpaid loans by some of his MPs? Can the afford to run agfain? I'll be looking for special treatment. We should be watching Gerard, Marth, Hedy, Maurizio, and of course Joe.

Unbelievable! The Liberals would have had to had these ads made up before the PM announced the prorogation for Jan. 25th. No wonder they were musing about such a possibility. Desperation indeed!

The worst ads were the N.D.P. French ones in the last election. PM Harper and the Conservatives were depicted as leading us to a fascist dictatorship with 1984 type images. Also with images of soldiers, supposedly our military going along with this. But since the ads were in Quebec in French they passed under the radar with our unilingual and Toronto-centred media.

This is simply, the Liberals eating their own.

The want to get rid of Ignatieff and this is the way they will do it.
Watch your back, Michael. The rebellion comes from within and you are THE REAL TARGET. It's too bad that you deserve it but if you don't think that the Conservatives saw this coming, your nuts.
The LPoC AND YOU will be outed, soon!! Just watch.

And if the libs vote against the budget and throne speech, and it has good things in it for families and Canada, he will suffer for forcing an election. But, perhaps all this rages etc is deliberate to force Iggy to defeat PMSH, so they can get rid of Iggy.
And if he doesn't defeat the govt, where will all that rage go.
I suggest that all OAS, CPP, CCTC, GST rebate, the 100.00/child under six, and EI recipients that did not get their checks in Dec, or January, because the govt was shut down, get out and protest. Oh, you mean you got those cheques. Guess the govt is still working.
The government includes a lot of people that are not MPs.

Once Iggy gets his extreme makeover, a Liberal majority is all but guaranteed.

As much as I hate to say it, Harper may have made another costly mistake. If we want to get a majority, this isn't the way to win the hearts and minds of Canadians.

    Perhaps anon, perhaps not.
If there is to be an election, why did Iggy not say just two days ago that he got it that Canadians didn't want an election?

The whole protest over prorogation seems to be getting coopted by those that are just anti-Harper.
Here I thought that from the facebook page, it was anti-prorogation, as in the practice was the problem not the guy using it.
Sure hate to see the look on Kinsella's face when Iggy gets cornered to admit he would prorgue parliament too.

But what else could this foretell?
Perhaps the coalition is going to try again?
Maybe the CPC war room is getting ready to release (on tv not youtube) an ad to remind voters about that coalition that would give the Bloc a veto over government legislation.
    That should clear everybodies head.
Is that what the liberals are hiding?

This video was lacking something, maybe the Liberals could hire Vince from the slap chop commercial to spice it up a bit, Iggy saying your going to love my nut's. or Harper sold shoes to the Afghan army, or linguine bikini.

Last March, on CFRA radio, Nik Nanos described the Libs rise to the mid 30's in the polls as: "the universe of anti-Harper voters slowly coalescing around the Liberals". Nik's take on the 'just visitng' ads was that they were directed at soft Dippers, trying to lure them away from the Liberal tent.

My reading of these 'scary Harper' Lib ads, and Iggy's tour of Universities, as a return to the battle for the votes of soft Dippers.

The Libs obviously have nothing of substance policy-wise to offer up. They are so intellectually bankrupt, that all they can do is fight the last wars. And so their pitch is again: "vote for us if you want to stop Harper ... a vote for the Dippers is wasted"

I read it as being a strong objection to the proroguement of Parliament and an attempt to use the anger taht is being expressed on Facebook. Not a liberal , more green with a touch of orange... social justice, eco justice ala Kairos.
