Well that was quick... CBC clears itself of bias

Of course, we all knew the outcome was a foregone conclusion... but I thought they'd at least try to make a show of "going through the motions" by taking a bit longer to do their "review".
CBC clears pollster, criticizes 'paranoia-tinged' Tories
Jane Taber - Wednesday, May 19, 2010 8:33 AM

1. Culture-war report. Stephen Harper’s chief election strategist deliberately used the CBC complaints process and “paranoia-tinged” language to raise money for the Conservatives and to “overwhelm” and “intimidate” the office, the public broadcaster’s ombudsman says in a report that completely exonerates EKOS pollster Frank Graves.

In his seven-page report, released late yesterday, Vince Carlin examines the 800 notes received by his office concerning Mr. Graves, who many Conservatives charge is a Liberal partisan providing tainted polls to the CBC.

So they clear themselves? Why was the CRTC not part of that investigative process? Its not like the CBC is getting our tax dollars or anything.

Maybe its time for the 'paranoia-tinged' Tories to take a good hard look at the CBC budget with an eye to really slash it's budget. The Mother Corp is taking the side of the left in almost all of its coverage. Well, if being on the left is so damned important, maybe the time has come for the CBC to go out and get some of its own money.
Gone are the days of Peter Czoski and evenly balanced political discussions like the Kierns, Camp and Lewis group which was so outstanding.
There is no attempt at balance in the CBC. There is no alternative life style group that can's get exhaustive coverage of their "problems" on the Mother Corp. There is very little coverage of the average Canadian, only extreme special interest groups.
I used to have my radio dial virtually welded on the local CBC station's number. These days, I seem to like other outlets better. Therefore, I have to ask the question: Why should my tax dollars go to producing this dreck?

Expecting the CBC to do an honest job of investigating themselves is like expecting the Nazi's to investigate themselves for their involvement in the Holocaust.

    Yeah, maybe, I guess.
Maybe it would be like David Suzuki investigating Al Gore for Climate Fraud and expecting himto be unbiased ?.
